Leaving Base Camp

Day: 29

Mile: No Change

Tomorrow morning, we are leaving, what we have fondly started to call, base camp. We have been safety tucked into my nephew’s property, surrounded by lovely gardens, a huge grassy lawn, water, electricity, and sewer hookup. We are close to a real bathroom and shower, and we have eaten most of our meals with my family.

We rented a car, so we have taken day trips, picked up Lorna at the airport, made runs to Lowe’s for a new kitchen faucet and we had the Greyhawk checked out at a Ford dealer. We have stocked up on groceries and wine, done all the laundry and cleaned the inside of the camper.

We are ready for the next phase of our journey. Granted we are not headed for total wilderness just yet, however, this part of the trip seems familiar. We have been here before. What lies ahead is less familiar and we will be on the Canadian boarder in 10 days.

Today, Lorna and I drove down to Silver Falls State Park. There are 10 waterfalls in this park, however, we only hiked into the South Falls.

I’m loving your blog. So glad Lorna is joining for the next part of the adventure — it’s always good to have a Canadian in your pocket in case you need one when you’re roaming in Parts Unknown!
