During the planning of our trip we learned about Harvest Hosts. This subscription service allows members to park and stay overnight at farms, wineries, breweries, museums, and more with no camping fee. You make a reservation on line and check in when you arrive. Of course buying something from the gift shop is encouraged. Generally, you are only allowed one night and you need to be self sufficient.
Our first Harvest Host experience was the Delta Heritage and Tina Turner Museum. The majority of the exhibits about Tina were in the one room school house she attended as a child. The building was moved from Nutbush, TN, to Brownsville, TN right off of highway 40 between Nashville and Memphis.
What does love have to do with it? Well, right now we decided that we have to love the following in order to survive the next four months; setting up camp every afternoon and taking it down every morning, problem solving when the levellers don’t work, the slide won’t go out, the water floods the bathroom, bumping into each other when getting dressed, using bottled water to brush your teeth, and eating breakfast out of a coffee mug.

I’ve never heard of Harvest Hosts! What a fantastic idea. You look just as sassy as Tina. 🙂
